What's Up? [Quarantine Edition]

March has flown by even though we have spent the last half in a very strange place of quarantine, pandemic, and just wondering what exactly is going on...

I am excited to blog today and link up over at the What's Up Wednesday hostess sites!

, What’s Up Wednesday {03.25.20}
What we are eating...

Silhouette Design Store: jar of cooking utensils

This has been a super confusing time.  Apparently, people think that a virus that infects your lungs also infects your bowels.  You go to the store and you cannot find toilet paper and at the same time its irony that you cannot find a lot of food either.

The first week of this whole shut down meant that my list was thrown out the window because the only foods left were a pack of pork chops and a pack of chicken wings.  That was a really fun week.

Made this for the daughter after her steak restaurant date last week, but I suspect a lot of other girls feel the same way.

Last weekend I was super lucky to be able to get chicken and ground beef.

I have been posting what all we are cooking each day on my Instagram Story (find me @iscreambrownie)

Monday we had meatloaf and I doubt I make the way your grandma does.  Tuesday we had veggie tacos and part of that story was taken down because my Amazon Music app is playing in the background and well....Eminem is not happy when you use his music totally not on purpose when you are cooking.

Tonight is Italian Chicken, tomorrow is spaghetti and meatballs.  Friday is salmon!

Am I reminiscing?

No

Loving anything?

Yes.  I'm not complaining about the quarantine.  I'm not complaining about the time with my kids.  The time away from work is a sweet blessing.  Everything is moving at a slower pace and I am seeing it as a blessing.  I actually wrote about it here.

So what have we been up to?

Spring cleaning is COMPLETE!  I have tons of stuff I want to throw into a yard sale but I'm wondering when that can even happen.

We have been good little homeschoolers.  It really kicks into gear next week and I'm going to have to figure out how to juggle that.
Loving our outside time - we go for walks a few times a day and hopefully the sun will show its face soon so I can start turning the soil for flowers and vegetables.
Binge watching some t.v. like champions.

Dreading?

Nothing.  There is no point in dreading anything, friends.

Working on?

Shaded Hydrangeas - 17 Dreamy Hydrangea Gardens That Have Us So Ready for Spring - Southernliving. Hydrangeas love morning sun and afternoon shade. Find a side of the house that does just that and watch them thrive. See PinBlack-Eyed Susan

I extended my front flower bed about sixteen inches out and its roughly twenty feet long so ummm that's a project for sure!  I'm a Hydrangea addict so I plan to get three more and then buy a sh*t ton of Black Eyed Susans.  Oh and never ever forget the power of the Impatien.

Excited about?

Y'all its SPRING!!!!

Much of the same....:)
I plan to play in lots of dirt and visit the garden center at Lowes because its open air and nature and ish.

Anything else?

Nahhh - I need a refill on my coffee now.
But I keep thinking I better go east again....

What's Up, Y'all?!?!?!

Sheaffer Told Me To What's Up Wednesday

-What we are eating-
Disclaimer:  I'm not a "keto" kid but I do eat low carb.

Last week I ordered this cookbook because I need to cut my carbs a little more than I was doing (please see the term "fell off wagon") and this book seriously caught my attention.  The meals are simple and very easy without really having to run to the store to purchase "extra" items.  This week we have had chicken enchiladas, bacon cheeseburger casserole, and tonight is carnitas! #founditonamazon

-Reminiscing-
I always leave this one blank but this month...I did.  Just this past Sunday at the dinner table I started reminiscing about my late Mammaw.  My kids didn't have the opportunity to meet her (but I like to think she held them before I did) and on Sunday my son started talking about grandmas and I told him all about her.  They would have been true buddies. I wish I had photos.

-Loving-
Bye February!  March is just around the corner and I love me some March.  So, yes, I'm loving this slow transition to my favorite time of year!
Joe's USA Koloa Ladies Colorful Tie-Dye V-Neck Tees in 10 Colors Sizes: XS-4XL
I am also loving some tye dye and I really have no clue why.  Because I'm a poet that didn't know it obviously.

-What I'm dreading-
99% Happy For You - C5000 – People I've Loved

-What I'm working on-
Still just working on my health :)  I imagine I will pick up some projects as the mercury rises and as I find time between soccer, softball, and track meets!

-What I'm excited about-
BEACH :)

-What I'm watching/reading-
Last weekend, The Real Housewives of Atlanta shut down Caribana and proved that Canada is the impromptu girls trip you didn't know you neede

And you know we fell victim (in love) with Navarro Cheer this month on Netflix!

Books...I need some suggestions.  I'm ready to read for fun again!

-What I'm listening to-

*I Hate Green Beans

-What I'm wearing-
Ask me next month but until then here's some stuff I'm thinking about!

-What we're doing this weekend-
Spin Classes at Niles Family Fitness Center

It's supposed to be freezing again so after workouts I'm not sure I will do much at all the rest of the weekend!  That's OK with me :)

-What I'm looking forward to next month-
March is the best!  Our anniversary, daylight savings time begins, and SPRING!  Not to mention softball and soccer start up.  I love March!

Come back Friday when I have more to share for the last Friday of the month!

Whats Up Wednesday: October 2019

What's Up Wednesday Graphic

A month ago I started blogging (again).  Whoa!  A month.  Haha.  This is just for fun and I appreciate you dropping by.  Now lets see what was memorable about this month....

Eating
So I started something new...
Every Saturday or Sunday I go to Trader Joe's and enjoy the sample.  If I enjoy the sample then the sample becomes a meal for the week ahead.  No, this doesn't pertain to the apple cider donuts.  May I suggest the gnocci and chicken sausage with the kale pesto?

You will love it.

I also bought an air fryer this week.  I guess that will lead to a post in November.

Halloween candy is the devil - a damn delicious one - but a devil indeed.  My indulgences include:  Snickers, Milky Way Dark, and Butterfinger.

Loving
Who am I?  Snuggling with a blanket on the couch.  I'm turning into a cat.
French press season is here.  I make more coffee with my french press in the cool and cold months than in the warm months.

Saturdays are going to be free again!  Fall sports wrapped last weekend.

Dreading
The impending rush of the last bit of the year.  October, November, and December go by so quickly.  It also means cold weather is closer. Meh.

Working on
Finding fun things to do for the holidays.  This is the first year I will not have a holiday break.  I'm really sad about that.

Fun post -

Wednesday, September 25, 2019

Hey Wednesday!

Midweek - yes!  I woke up this morning thinking about two things:

1.  Friday is that much closer.
2.  Why do I feel so rushed?

And then the third thing...

I'm going to start a blog today.

Holy crap here I am sitting on my couch after a long work day and I'm like, oh hello blogger, and I'm typing away.  You can get to know me, if you want to!  Or you can peruse this first very much copy and pasted piece of blog mess and pass on me.  I don't really care your preference because like so many others I just need a little fun outlet!

What better reason to start blogging on a Wednesday other than....What's Up Wednesday?

, What’s Up Wednesday {09.25.19}I
I need prompts (obviously) and we need to mingle (hello my name is, chicka chicka slim shady, no its not...) so why this makes total sense as to why I should randomly decide to throw together a blog on the last Wednesday of the month.

Now those prompts...

What we are eating this week:

We are a THM household 90% of the time.  I only cook three days a week on average and those days I just pull from this cookbook.  (This is their second cookbook they have released.) I can give you a list of the food to make from this cookbook and a list of the stuff to never ever ever make.  But let's save that for later shall we?

This week I made a couple things out of here including the roast (no great novel idea there, traditional roast just skipped the potatoes!) and I also made the lime chicken tacos.  You really cannot screw up a taco so that is probably why it is my go to meal.

What I'm reminiscing about?

Image result for east tennessee

We typically take a little trip in the early fall and this year we are not.  (Hello sports.) Its a bummer and I wish I could slip away.  While I cannot go anywhere right now I can reminisce on last year's trip to East Tennessee :)

Loving?

This is going to sound super strange to many.  It may be fall and October may be standing in the corner but we have been in the 80's/90's (still) and I'm loving it.  I can stretch out my summer clothing a bit longer, I'm not freezing, I can be outside and loving it.  Yeah...ok I'm weird to you, we get that!

What have we been up to?

Gosh.  OK you don't know me and you don't really care but if you are really wondering....
Soccer, softball, and school.  That is called alliteration at it's best.  If I had been prepared to start blogging perhaps I could shower you with amazing iPhone photos but I wasn't prepared.  I just threw this all together.  I'll do better next time!

Dreading?

Work tomorrow.  (Short term)
Cold weather. (Long term)

What I'm working on?

Gosh this is like the best question to pose when one decides to start a blog and post the most ill prepared post on the day one says here we go blogger!  I need an outlet to make me a better person.  I work out and that's great but sometimes I need diarhea of the fingers to really feel good.  Sometimes I need to vent through words and not steps or miles.  So I'm working on me through sweat equity and now word equity.

What I'm excited about?

35+ Ideas For Birthday Quotes October #quotes #birthday

October is historically a good month for us.  We have extra fun in it and Lord knows we need it right now.  I'm really excited for what the next month will bring as the ball seasons ramp up to wind down and a birthday is had and all the other good stuff that comes along with the month of fifty shades of orange.

What I'm watching and reading?

Actually, I'm about to turn on Hulu and watch the season premier of This Is Us.  Then I'll watch my DVR'd Real Housewives of the O.C. and then tonight my oldest child and I will watch a little Goldbergs.  To fall asleep I will turn on Call The Midwife (newest season on Netflix.)

I'm kind of tv addicted.

This is where I drop the ball and say while blushing - I'm not reading anything right now.  BUT I do plan to visit the library tomorrow after work and change that.

OK this is my best freshman try.  Thanks for sticking with it if you made it all the way to the bottom.  Next time I'll do better!  And I don't know when next time will be or what it will hold but hey...it's all good!
